Democracy Is Coming, To The USA ...
A little fountain down the block is a favorite of kids and their parents during the Saturday Silver Lake Farmers Market. The fountain has been busted and dry for more than a month. I wrote a letter to the City Councilman, and I got a form letter back. Here is my note to the people who hate LA families:
Hello Eric Garcetti,I am writing about the nice fountain in the little triangle park. It has been sad and broken and empty of water for a whole month now.
Can somebody call the plumber? I can do this, if you want, and just have them bill Council District 13.
The fountain is a nice thing. It's especially nice for the kids on Farmers Market Saturdays -- the toddlers love to stick their hands in the water and amuse themselves while mommy & daddy can eat their crepe in peace and not have to constantly herd the kids away from traffic on Sunset Boulevard. Have you ever tried to herd several kids away from Sunset traffic when you have a terrible hangover and really just want to eat that crepe?
Thanks for fixing the fountain!
Of course, our councilman is busy giving honors to local songbird Jenny Lewis (and yes, I love her too) instead of fixing the fountain.
